Belgian National Child Rights Indicators

Responding to, among others, the concluding observations of the United Nations Committee on the Rights of the Child with regards to data collection at the national level, the NCRC has issued 40 National Child Rights Indicators in 2016. These have been developed through a participatory approach gathering administrations, politicians , civil society representatives and researchers with the aim of providing a better view of the extent to which children’s rights are implemented - or not - across Belgium, from the point of view of the child himself.

An update of the indicators is planned for 2018 following the communication of the list of issues by the United Nations Committee on the Rights of the Child in the context of its examination of the 5th and 6th combined state periodic report of Belgium.

Moreover, the results of the specific surveys will be integrated in the National Child Rights Indicators.
